Street Traders and Pedlars

Persons selling from the street be it from a cart, stall or basket are subject to licensing under the provisions of the Market, Street Traders and Pedlars Act 1953.

 

The licenses are divided into the following categories:

A: License for the selling of ice-cream, bakery, confectionery, nuts etc. from a stationary position.

B: License for the selling of flowers from a stationary position.

C: License for the selling of fish, fruit and vegetable on a mobile basis.

D: License for the selling of ice-cream, bakery, confectionery, nuts etc. on a mobile basis.

E: License for the selling of miscellaneous items or activities e.g. souvenirs, paintings etc from a stationary position.

Licenses are issued on a monthly basis upon payment of a £21.5 fee.
There are currently no licenses available for any of the above categories.

Applicants need to fill in and submit the form and submit with a copy of their ID card and with full details as to their proposal. This should include photographs/drawings of the stall/cart, colour scheme,  exact proposed location, diagrams, activity proposed etc.
